"I Will attach some photos of my Gipsy. Please give me your comments on it. I have restored it as per my knowledge. It has a BMC diesel engine. I couldn't find the steering box here in sri lanka so I have installed Power steering system to it. 4WD also in very good working condition. Basically the main problem in Sri Lanka is lack of spare parts. Any how I did it but still I have to do some changes. If I'm bringing down spare parts from UK it will be a very expensive thing for me. So please advise me how can I over come this problem."

This is my series 4, 1968 Gipsy, with solid axle suspension. It has the 2.2
liter petrol engine, but I may replace it with a 2.2 liter BMC diesel in the
near future if the gas prices keep going up! The front bumper was missing
when I bought it, and wanting to licence and drive it, I bolted on a rear
bumper from a 1956 Ford pickup! Not a bad fit eh? I'll be replacing that
before I put it on the road again this summer. The custom made roll bar was
is made from 2" heavy wall tubing. The steering wheel center too was
missing, so I took one from a 1949 Austin car, it was even faded gray to
match the Gipsy steering wheel. It does't look too out of place, does it? I
thought the old Austin symbol was quite appropriate. And yes those are
"flying A" hubcaps on the rear, it is very difficult to fit hubcaps on the
front of series 4 Gipsys because of the protrotruding hubs, otherwise I
would have them on the front as well. The poor old girl has been without a
roof for the last 12 years or so, until I bought a 1965 Gipsy with a roof,
that will soon be fitted.
